Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association Endorses Beth Gaines for Assembly

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, May 21, 2012

SACRAMENTO, CA — The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC recently announced the endorsement of Beth Gaines for Assembly.

“Assemblywoman Gaines has a strong record on behalf of taxpayers,” said Jon Coupal, President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association. “Californians are already struggling with a heavy tax burden and it is crucial to elect representatives like Beth Gaines, who will fight to protect the interests of hard-working taxpayers.”

As a small business owner, Gaines knows first-hand the burdensome tax and regulatory pressures businesses face each day. That’s why she opposes any effort to increase taxes or schemes aimed at dismantling Proposition 13, which has protected Californians from unfair property tax increases. In 2011, Gaines helped put a stop to $58 billion in new taxes.

“The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association has a long record of advocating for taxpayers and I am honored to receive their endorsement,” Gaines said. “I will continue to push for lower taxes and ways to provide incentives for businesses already struggling to keep their doors open. It’s time we make our state more business friendly and jobs-competitive once again.”
