Beth Gaines is a conservative businesswoman, mother of six and longtime Republican volunteer.
Beth was born and raised in Sacramento County, graduated from La Sierra High School and studied at the University of California, Irvine. Her father, Dr. Robert Burkhard DDS, is a past President of the Sacramento District Dental Society.
Beth was a marketing consultant for her former family business, Point West Insurance Associates and is co-owner of Gaines Insurance Agency. Her prior business experience includes sales and marketing for a medical supply company and management experience at the local branch of a national workforce employment firm. She has also served as a teacher for Placer County pre-schoolers.
Long active in the local community, Beth Gaines has served as a volunteer for numerous charities and groups, including the Child Abuse Prevention Council, MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) and Acres of Hope. She has served as a Sunday School Teacher at Bayside Church in Granite Bay and is a member of the local chapter of the Federation of Republican Women.
In her first year in the Assembly, Beth voted to put a stop to over $58 billion in tax increases and was a leader in the fight against frivolous lawsuit abuse and over-regulation. She’s made over 300 appearances in the district and is the founder of the Northern California Women’s Conference.
Beth Gaines loves the outdoors and the recreational opportunities provided in the 6th District. She learned to hunt at the age of 12 and enjoys, along with her family, both snow skiing and water skiing.
Beth and her husband Ted Gaines were married in 1985 and soon started a family. Beth became deeply involved in her children’s education, home-schooling five of the six. The Gaines family lives in Rocklin.
